Welcome to Central Congregational Church!
The mission of Central Congregational Church is to live our faith in Jesus through worship, education, and service.
We are an energized and engaged congregation providing diverse worship opportunities, vibrant multi-generational education, and varied community service that has a positive impact on the world.
Our Commitment as an Open and Affirming Church
We, the congregation of Central Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, declare ourselves to be an Open and Affirming congregation. With the grace of God, we commit ourselves to being a congregation that includes all persons, embracing diversity and not restricting participation because of gender, marital status, sexual orientation, age, mental and physical ability, as well as racial, ethnic and socio-economic background.
We welcome all persons, whether members or non-members, to share in the full life and ministry of this church including fellowship, worship, sacraments and ceremonies and celebrations; in the shared responsibilities of stewardship and living in a covenantal relationship; in the shared blessings of the right to marry or celebrate a commitment to a person of one's choosing, in the right to celebrate a loved one's life in a memorial service; and to receive pastoral care.

Sunday, March 29
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week. Our service will include a procession with Eco Palms from a collaborative that works with the Rainforest Alliance to ensure that palms from the forests of Mexico and Guatemala are kept sustainable. All young people are invited to participate in the procession.

Thursday April 2nd
Maundy Thursday is a simple bread and soup supper that will be served at 6:00 pm, followed by a Tenebrae service and communion at 7:00 pm.
The Tenebrae service remembers the fading light at Easter time and recalls the meal that Jesus shared with his followers before his arrest and betrayal.
Thursday April 2nd
The Easter Vigil begins after the Tenebrae at 8:00 pm and continues through the night until noon on Good Friday. We invite you to come with a friend and keep vigil for an hour.
This time we spend in the sanctuary honors the request Jesus made of his disciples to stay awake and pray with him in the Garden of Gethsemane, before Pilate’s soldiers came to arrest him. Sign up in the social hall.

Good Friday, April 3, at 12:00 noon we will have a short service of Scripture, prayer and meditation to remember Jesus’ passion and reflect on the meaning of Christ’s death.
